Review of the Radical

A radical function is a function that is defined by a radical expression. A radical expression is an expression that contains at least one radical symbol. The following is a list of examples of radical expressions:

the fifth root of y, the square root of two x plus six, the cube root of x minus one

We can break each of the following radical expressions down further into a radicand, index, and the radical symbol.
