In talking about our bodies, we should talk about another kind of language--body language. Do you know that each culture has gestures and "signals" that are representative of language and have meaning? These are not the same in each language, though many are easily interpreted in other cultures.
Occasionally, offensive gestures in one culture are not at all offensive in other cultures. Can you think of gestures that you use in your daily life that the people around you tend to understand? Perhaps if you were to use those gestures in Japan, you would not be understood.
