Chapter 5: Eligibility Determination
This chapter provides guidance on the process of determining eligibility for special education and
related services, including a listing of appropriate CSC participants and general considerations in the
decision-making process. It details the documentation requirements, culminating in completion of the
CSC Eligibility Reportand the actual determination of eligibility.
Also included in this chapter are the legal definitions for disabilities as defined by the IDEA an
d DoDM 1342.12 .It is DoDEA’s policy that regardless of the category of the student’s disability, services are
based upon needs identified through the assessment process.
