Welcome to the National Core Arts Standards (NCAS) training website for unpacking the NCAS. The purpose of this training is to provide specific information, training and resource support for teachers of Fine Arts to understand the standards.

Learner Outcomes

During this training, teachers of Fine Arts will:

• Unpack the components of the NCAS framework and related instructional support resources.
• Articulate and demonstrate an understanding of the major elements of the new arts standards: Disciplines, Artistic Processes, Anchor Standards, and Performance Standards.
• Explain the NCAS-developed instructional support resources available on the NCAS Website. These include:  Enduring Understandings, Essential Questions, Process Components, and Model Cornerstone Assessments.
