Collaborating and communicating online 5C concept

Collaboration and Communication

Learning most often occurs through interactive collaboration. Online collaboration tools include: blogs, wikis, discussion boards, instant messaging (IM), and email. Please note that it is not the tool that creates opportunities for collaboration. But rather, learning occurs when the instructor strategically plans meaningful interactions using specific online collaborative tools that bring students together in a way that fosters social interaction, and then learning will transpire. When utilizing collaboration tools with students, adhering to communication protocols, often referred to as Netiquette is of utmost importance.
