In this unit, we have learned about a variety of forms of entertainment enjoyed in the Spanish-speaking world. Some other dances, merengue, cumbia, and tango, for example, are also very common forms of entertainment.

For this project, you are going to do some research on the history of some of these dances and music. You should produce a 200 word essay (in English).  You will need to find pictures representative of each style of dance and you need to highlight at least two styles of dance in your essay.  If you have ever had the chance to see Latin American dancing or even take a Latin American dance class, please include that experience in your essay.

There are two deadlines to this project:

  • Deadline 1: outline/rough draft
  • Deadline 2: final copy with bibliography (1 source in Spanish)
