Welcome to The Body からだ!

In this unit, The Body, からだ, we are going to talk about the human body and we will learn how to talk about things that might go wrong with our health and body. Our cultural focus for this unit will be about famous sites in Japan, particularly the places designated as World Cultural Heritage Sites by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).  These sites that are very important in the early part of Japanese history. The Great Buddha of Nara
The official name of the Great Buddha (known as Daibutsu-sama) in Todaiji Temple in Nara is Vairocana Buddha. This is the largest bronze Buddha in the world. This Buddah measures 14.98 m in height and weighs 380 tons. Each eye is 1.02 m wide, the ears are 2.54 m tall, and the face is 5.33 m in length. According to old records, 2,600,000 people were involved in its construction, using 440 tons of copper and 440 kg of gold.

You must keep in mind that fluency in Japanese (or any foreign language) does not happen over night. It may seem to be a very slow process to you but it is one that is achieved the more you practice and seek ways to use your new skills.

  4. talk about various illnesses
  5. begin to learn past tense verb forms

You should keep in mind that during the course of this unit, The Body, からだ, you should spend time doing vocabulary activities and drilling vocabulary (flashcards) at least 15 minutes daily.

At this point you should also have developed some tools to help yourself learn the Japanese language when you are not online working. You should either take notes to study later or make lists of vocabulary that you can study or even teach someone else.
