Tutorial: Choking

You are sitting in a fast food restaurant with your friends, laughing it up, when suddenly your friend starts wheezing and then turns silent. You can tell by the look on her face that something is really wrong, but she just keeps looking more and more panicky without speaking. What should you do?
If you've ever been in this situation, it is terrifying, especially if you don't know what to do. Nothing can make you feel so helpless as standing by and watching your friend, who is choking, turn blue and pass out. Knowing how to administer a simple technique called the Heimlich Maneuver, or abdominal thrusts, can save a life.
