Faisons un petit voyage à Paris.

Montmartre

The City of Paris, the City of Lights, has a population of 2.15 million people in the city itself and 10.5 million in the greater metropolitan area. It is the largest financial and business center of Europe, along with London. For centuries, it has been the destination of tourists from all over the world. France attracts more than 60 million tourists every year, and most go through Paris. Paris is reknown for its beautiful architecture and its wealth of museums. There are over 70 museums in Paris.

This is the Sacré Coeur in Montmartre. Where the basilica now stands has been a sacred place for millennia. The Gallic Druids revered their gods there and the Romans built a temple to Mercury and Bacchus. St. Denis, the first bishop of the region, evangelized here. He died decapitated, but never denied his faith. After that, the hill was called "Mont des Martyrs", which, over time, became known as Montmartre.
