Medieval Era: Significant Pieces of Music
Since the church was so influential in the music of the era, it makes sense that even since then some of the greatest musical works ever written have been masses. It was during the Medieval era that the mass form began.
Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179) does have manuscripts that have survived. Some of them include:

- "Voices of Blood"
- "A Feather on the Breath of God"
