Similar Triangles

Similar polygons have the same shape but not necessarily the same size. Two polygons are similar if and only if their corresponding angles are congruent and corresponding side lengths are proportional. Similarity is denoted by the symbol “~”.

Similar triangles ABC and DEF with angle A congruent to angle D. Angle B congruent to angle E. Angle C congruent to angle F. Side AB over DE is equal to BC over EF is equal to side AC over DF.
