Radical Functions: Solving Radical Equations and Inequalities

GCalc and Graphing Calculators

You can use the GCalc application to graph your square root functions. Click on the image below to start the GCalc application. Use the input of "sqrt(x)" and modify as needed. GCalc also allows you to produce tables.

Here are the directions to creating a table in this application:

  1. Double-click "Table Plugin."
  2. In the "Input" space, write in your function.
  3. Click "Add Column."

You will be able to see the table of values. A value marked as "NaN" means the function is not defined at that x-value.

The following website is a great reference guide to creating a graph and table using any of the Texas Instrument Graphing Calculator models:

Visit the Quick Guide to TI Calculators page. Once there, explore the "Graphs and Tables" section to see how to create both using the Texas Instrument Graphing Calculator.
