Disc Golf: Introduction

The growing popularity of the game of disc golf begins with the essential fact that throwing a flying disc with power and accuracy is a marvelous sensation. The constant challenge, the social nature of the game, the good physical and mental conditioning, and the fact that it is inexpensive to begin play are also attractions. Disc golf is a recreational sport for everyone, regardless of age, gender, or ability.

Objectives

At the end of this lesson, you will:

  • Demonstrate proper throwing skills.
  • Demonstrate creativity when designing golf course.
  • Participate and have a working knowledge of Frisbee golf.

  • What have you learned about the sport and what do you like/dislike about it? 
  • How could you apply what you have learned to other sports?  How could you apply what you have learned to situations outside of sports?  What might those situations be?
