Organizing a Sentence

Sentences are our most basic unit for organizing complete ideas. There are several basic types of sentences. When writing, you want to make sure that your sentences are clear and grammatically correct, and that you avoid incomplete or faulty sentences. Most of us have a good sense of whether a sentence is complete, and contains all its parts, but it's useful for writers to know how to recognize and name the basic sentence parts. This way, if revision is needed, we can easily diagnose and address sentence weaknesses.
