April Professional Development (Phase II) for Principals
Learner Outcomes
By the end of this professional development session, principals will have:
- Deepened understanding of the instructional leader’s role in promoting high-quality mathematics instruction
- Reflected on beliefs about mathematics teaching and learning
- Considered the impact that mathematical tasks and instructional practices have on student learning
It is highly recommended that you completely download the files below to a preferred location on the local computer being used during the professional development session. It is not recommended that you open/play these files directly from this webpage. To download each file, please do the following:
For Internet Explorer:
- Right click the hyperlinked file, select the option, Save target as…, and then save the file onto the local computer.
For Chrome:
- Right click the hyperlinked file, select the option, Save link as…, and then save the file onto the local computer.
PowerPoint and Facilitator's Guide (April 14, 2015)
- PowerPoint Presentation - This file may take several minutes to download (2-4 minutes). Videos from Inside Mathematics are embedded on slides 9 and 10.

- This is a backup plan should the embedded videos on slides 9 and 10 not play properly when the PowerPoint presentation is being shown. If problems occur while playing the video directly from the PowerPoint, completely download the video mp4 files below, save them in a preferred location on the local computer being used during the professional development session. Note: These files may take a few minutes to download. During the live session, simply minimize the PowerPoint presentation when you reach slides 9 and 10, play the videos from the location where they are saved, and then resume the PowerPoint presentation after you have shown the videos. Again, this is only a backup plan should the embedded videos in the PowerPoint presentation (slides 9 and 10) does not play properly.
