The unit begins by discussing the newly ordained independent nation and the course that was set by the government. Additionally, we will examine the documents that were created to support this government to ensure there was a balance in the government as well as balance in the duties and obligations that have been bestowed upon the government and its people. Furthermore, we will examine the leaders who played a pivotal part in shaping the government. We will also address the issues these men encountered, both foreign and domestic.
The roles of the specific groups that were affected by the growth and development of the nation will be analyzed. Particularly, we will focus our attention on the impact our government had on the Native Americans and African Americans.
