Tutorial: ¿Qué tiempo hace?
One common and very useful thing to be able to talk about is the weather.

You may have noticed that some of the expressions in talking about the weather have "hace" in front of them. Some of them have nothing in front of them and one of them has "está" in front of it. It may seem to you that you can use whichever little word you like in front of the weather expressions, but this is not so. They must be:
Está nublado. |
Hace mal tiempo. Hace frío. |
Hace buen tiempo. Hace calor. Hace mucho calor. Está soleado. |
Llueve. |
Nieva. |
So you can see, most of them use "hace" in front of the weather expression. Two of them are alone and one uses está in front. Be sure that you practice this vocabulary adequately so that you can talk about the weather in any situation.
