Baroque Era: Influential Events, Institutions, and People

Loosely translated, the word “Baroque” means “bizarre”.  “Baroque” can be used to describe something that is ornate, decorated, elaborate, or exaggerated. These characteristics can be ascribed to art, drama, literature, and architecture that emerged during this time period.
