Medieval Era, Continued

Music from the Medieval era is part of a larger classification known as "early music," even though the era starts around the year 450 AD.  During this time period, music notation was created.  Now, music could be shared not only by playing it for others but by sharing written compositions between musicians as well.  Regardless of what language a musician spoke, musical notation was universal.
