Triangular Shaped Cookies

 

By this point in your mathematics education, I’m sure you are very familiar with the triangle.  As you know, it is a shape with three sides and three angles.  I’m sure you know how to find both the perimeter and the area of a triangle and the sum of the angles. You can classify triangles by their side lengths and angle measures.  But did you also know that the triangle is the basis for a branch of mathematics called trigonometry?  In this section you are going to learn the foundation to the study of trigonometry.  Once you have studied this section, you will understand the basic trigonometric functions and how to apply them to both right triangles and non-right triangles.
