Informal and Two Column Proofs: Introduction

When lawyers argue cases in a courtroom, they are presenting logical arguments that are supported by evidence.  Mathematicians follow much the same process when they prove theorems and other statements in geometry.  These proofs can take many different forms, and you will learn about several of them in this section.
