Domestic and Social Policy: Introduction

Domestic policy making involves addressing those issues close to home including education, energy, health care, poverty, and the environment. Congress enacts laws to establish public policy in this area and the executive branch implements these policies. Competing interests often complicate the decision making process as policymakers try to delineate the best course of action to solve problems.
