JournalJournal: The Bill of Rights 10 points

During this section you will be examining how the Bill of Rights provides important safeguards for our political freedoms. Many of the actions you and those around you engage in are protected by these amendments to the Constitution. student working at laptop computer

As you study this unit, examine the events of your day or several days, and record instances of actions you witness that are protected by the Bill of Rights. For example, if you say a prayer before you begin your test in math class, that’s protected by the First Amendment. Your examples can come from television you watch, conversations with friends, etc.

Record seven to twelve examples from a variety of the amendments that make up the Bill of Rights. Write a few sentences describing the action and then explaining which amendment protects that action. If you can also include a Supreme Court case that pertains to the action that’s even better.

Please enter your entry to The Bill of Rights Journal on the journal worksheet for this section. Submit it to your teacher at the end of this section. (It’s likely that as you read and study the examples in this section, you will think of more for your journal.)
