Electric Current: Introduction

Electric Current

You watch TV, listen to the radio (or an mp3), turn on the lights in the bathroom, or go to the movies. In each of these cases, you are completely dependent on the flowing of electric charges. This electron flow is what powers the TV, radio, lights, and movie screen. In fact, there are sometimes microscopic circuits in devices you wouldn’t even think about, such as your toaster. Now, there are circuits that are small enough to fit inside the tip of a pen and carry information back to a computer.

Needless to say, you need electric current. In this module, you will learn about electric current, circuits, resistors, and capacitors. You will read about how these things are used in powering your home or the neon sign down the road.
