Think About It: Read each of the following statements and decide if you agree.

Question	Fact or Fiction?
Money is accepted everywhere you shop.		Fact. But the forms of money accepted depends on the business and the location. For instance, some establishments no longer accept personal checks. Whereas some locations frown on the use of credit cards for purchases.
Commercial banks are non-profit organizations.		Fiction. Banks earn profits by charging account fees and interest on loans.
Internet banking is much more environmentally friendly than traditional banking.		Fact. However, traditional banks are getting more environmentally friendly by allowing customers to use their websites to complete online banking transcactions. In addition, many banks allow options for paperless transactions.
Banks help keep the economy strong by ensuring their is money available for customer loans.		Fact. Banks make deposited money available to customers for loans. The loans, and the influx of money, tend to spur the economy.
