h one end of the straw flat. To form a double reed, cut that end of the straw to a point. To play, put that end of the straw in your mouth and blow hard.

Experiment by cutting the straw to various lengths. How does this affect the sound? Does a longer piece produce a higher sound or a lower sound? Write about your discoveries in the Unit 3 Journal located in the Unit 3: Musical Instruments folder.
