Music Notation: Introduction

Music has been part of the human experience for thousands of years.  For most of that time, there was no way to communicate musical ideas from one place to another. Music had to be learned by memory from the people who already knew how to play or sing it. Music notation has only existed since the late ninth century (800's). This lesson introduces you to the symbols and notation used to record and share music.
