Welcome to Health Education

Think of all the things you love to do on a daily basis: hang out with friends, go to the skate park, see a movie, play on the volleyball team, cook a special dinner, or go to band practice. Knowing how to make choices that keep you healthy is important for many reasons. Perhaps the most important reason to students is that staying healthy allows you to keep doing all those things you love to do.

Course Overview

This course will help you develop the knowledge and skills you need to make healthy decisions that allow you to stay active, safe and informed. The lessons and activities are designed to introduce you to important aspects of the main types of health: emotional and mental, social and consumer, and physical. Among other topics, you will explore nutrition, understanding and avoiding disease, first aid and CPR, and human sexuality.

In this module, you will find out about the basics of health education: the main types of health, the components of a healthy lifestyle, and one way to approach making healthy choices and decisions.
