The process of creating a web site can be split into three phases:
The three phases above are listed in alphabetical order, but generally, you begin the process in the web design phase. Web design, in its most basic form, is the act of designing the visual aesthetics and site structure of a web page. Although web design may seem to be the easiest aspect of the web page creation process, as it doesn't appear to require any specific language or software application knowledge, a lot of time and effort must be spent in the web design phase to ensure you create a visually-appealing, usable web page. Web design, with a stress on the concept of design, will be the focus of this module. |
