Asian American Role:
Asian Americans are a very small minority group compared to African Americans and Hispanic Americans. They have had some notable political successes. In 1996, Gary Locke, of Chinese descent, was elected governor of Washington. In 2007 Bobby Jindal, of Indian descent, was elected governor of Lousiana. A prominent Republican, some members of his party consider him a likely candidate for a national office, maybe even to be President.
