Civil Rights Timeline

As you know, all Americans were not granted civil rights from the beginning of our history. Progress towards civil rights has been gradual and long in coming for many. The purpose of this activity is to identify and assess the development of American civil rights for African Americans and women. While these are not the only groups that have sought civil rights, these two groups have been the largest, most vocal, and most successful in bringing public attention to their cause.
